The Aikido Sports Club Bušido in Niš announces a call for applications for sports scholarships for students of the University of Niš, with the aim of enabling talented and motivated students to continuously engage in sports, further develop their professional skills, and actively participate in the activities of the sports organisation.
The sports scholarship is awarded in the form of exemption from training and equipment costs, including coverage of travel and related expenses associated with seminars, as well as professional and mentoring support, rather than in the form of financial compensation.
Duration and Number of Scholarships
- The scholarship is awarded for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
- A total of 4 sports scholarships will be awarded.
What the Scholarship Includes
- Full exemption from membership fees
- Sports equipment provided (kimono and accompanying gear)
- Covered examination fees for advancement in belts and ranks
- Participation in national and international professional seminars
- Travel and participation fees for seminars covered
- Continuous mentorship, individual support in learning and development, as well as professional guidance in accordance with the scholarship recipient’s abilities and goals
Eligibility Requirements and Qualifications
The candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Be a student at the University of Niš
- Demonstrate a strong interest and motivation to succeed in studying Aikido
- Be in good general health
- Possess basic knowledge of Eastern martial arts
- Be able to perform basic gymnastic elements (forward roll and backward roll)
Responsibilities of Scholarship Recipients
- Regular attendance of at least three training sessions per week
- Active participation in the life and activities of the club
- Responsible and professional behaviour that contributes to the reputation of the club
Selection Process
The decision on awarding the scholarship will be made by the club’s management, based on:
- A physical assessment of candidates during training sessions
- An interview with candidates to evaluate motivation, potential, and readiness for long-term cooperation
