The LAWGID programme is a two-year, 120 ECTS Master’s degree delivered in English, focused on key issues at the intersection of law, gender equality, intersectionality, and diversity. It is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and address complex social and legal challenges in these areas.
It provides both legal and non-legal professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills for gender mainstreaming, grounded in intersectional and diversity-focused approaches. It is tailored for a wide range of professionals, including judges, lawyers, public officials, policymakers, HR specialists, social care practitioners, journalists, NGO representatives, and academics.
LAWGID offers a multidisciplinary academic environment that integrates theoretical foundations, comparative and international perspectives, and practical training. This structure enables graduates to critically analyse issues of equality, diversity, and social justice across a range of professional and institutional settings.
Mobility Across Europe: Studying in Three Countries

It is jointly delivered by three European universities, each bringing its own academic expertise and institutional strengths. The programme partners include:
- University of Belgrade – Faculty of Law
- LUMSA University – Department of Law, Economics and Communication in Palermo, Italy
- Örebro University – Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Sweden
A key component of the LAWGID programme is its mobility structure, which allows students to study in multiple European cities during their two year academic journey. The programme is designed to provide a truly international learning experience through physical mobility between partner universities. Students complete the first semester in Belgrade, the second in Palermo, and the third in Örebro. The final semester is dedicated to the preparation and defence of the Master’s thesis at a partner university of their choice. Graduates receive three nationally accredited diplomas, issued by each partner university.
The programme offers 12 Erasmus Mundus scholarships per intake, across four two-year cycles. In addition, each partner university can admit up to 10 self-funded students per edition, for a total of 30. Applications are submitted online and require candidates to meet a set of standard eligibility criteria.
Upon completion of the LAWGID programme, graduates receive three diplomas, each awarded by one of the partner universities.
