Living in Serbia
Health
Foreign nationals are entitled to urgent medical assistance during their stay in Serbia. The conditions of medical assistance are not the same for everyone, since this depends on the agreement that the Republic of Serbia has made with another country regarding the medical care of their citizens. Besides the state healthcare institutions, there are also the private ones, which charge all their services (usually at higher prices), but in some cases can offer better conditions to their clients. More information on health issues is available at:

Emergency
The Emergency Ambulance Service can be reached by calling 194 and it is available 24 hours a day. In larger cities there are also health institutions for all kinds of urgent conditions or injuries which are open 24 hours as well as selected pharmacies. However, please have in mind that not all medicines can be bought in pharmacies, due to the fact that some of them require a doctor’s prescription.
