Faculty of Economics

Faculty of Economics offers a variety of study programmes within the area of economics, business administration and management.

The Faculty of Economics of the University of Kragujevac is an accredited  higher education institution that offers a variety of study programs within the area of economics, business administration and management. The programs cover all academic levels, ranging from Bachelor through Master to the PhD degree created in such manner that students are made capable of acquiring course-specific competencies which are in line with the leading faculties of economics and business schools in Europe. At Bachelor’s and Master’s level there are two study programs: Economics and Business Administration and Management consisting of thirteen modules. Doctorate level with its study program Economics offers three modules.
Since its establishment the Faculty has strived at creating an important position in the country and the region by educating economists, managers, and also through encouraging scientific work of its staff who conducted their research projects in the field of fundamental and applied research. With this aim, curricula have been continuously improved in order for them to be aligned to the latest scientific and educational trends of the contemporary world. Nowadays the Faculty of Economics, University of Kragujevac, is an accredited higher education institution which provides three levels of education: Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees.
Bachelor studies
Study program Economics with modules:
a)    General Economics,
b)    Finance, Stock Exchange and Banking;
Study program Business Administration and Management with modules:
a)    Accountancy and Business Finance,
b)    Marketing,
c)    Management,
d)    Tourism and Hospitality Management.
Master studies
Study program Economics with modules:
a)    General Economics,
b)    Finance, Stock Exchange and Banking;
Study program Business Administration and Management with modules:
a)    Accountancy and Business Finance,
b)    Tourism Management,
c)    Marketing,
d)    International Management,
e)    E-business.
PhD studies
Study program Economics with modules:
a)    Macroeconomics,
b)    Business Management,
c)    Accountancy and Business Finance.
During the past years over 8.000 students have graduated, 176 have completed an M.Sc. degree and 57 have obtained a PhD degree.
Besides the students who are the biggest potential of the Faculty of Economics, this institution can also pride in competent staff. The teaching process at the Faculty is performed by 80 teachers who currently educate more than 3.800 students distributed across Bachelor, Master and PhD programs having all necessary conditions to study and enjoy their student days.
The Faculty of Economics in Kragujevac is the publisher of the scientific journal Economic Horizons (www.horizonti.ekfak.kg.ac.rs), issued three times a year, in both Serbian and English language, in the print and electronic form. The Faculty organizes three conferences on regular basis, one of which entitled Contemporary Issues in Economics, Business and Management – EBM is international two-day conference followed by student conference Challenges and Perspectives of the New Economy.
During the course of its existence, the Faculty proved to be open for cooperation with scientific research institutions and economic entities in the country and abroad, being engaged in 15 TEMPUS projects so far which referred to reorganization of economic studies in Serbia, to student internships, lifelong learning, building the network for SMEs etc. In a word, the Faculty of Economics tends to renew, establish and promote international cooperation by fostering any form of it: organization and participation in international conferences, forums and other expert meetings; mobility of students and staff; participation in international projects; organizing the visits of foreign lecturers – professors and public figures from abroad.
The Faculty has facilities with modern equipment, such as computer rooms, library with over 50.000 domestic and foreign volumes, a classroom for Lifelong Learning, a video-conferencing room, the academic computer network and the Internet café, as well as the student restaurant.
The students of the Faculty of Economics have a variety of opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities such as: membership in student organizations, in the Student Parliament that organize student exchange programs, competitions, student excursions, edition of student magazine, humanitarian actions, social events, student parties, sports activities and professional trainings and, after graduation, to be a part of the Association of Graduates ALUMNI EFKG. By supporting student organizations and establishing good cooperation with current and former students, the Faculty of Economics in Kragujevac gives a significant contribution to enhancing the quality of student life as another very important dimension of the studies.
